Default Daily Driver build

Friend wants to put a nicely built 302 into his 95gt roller. He plans to drive it when weather permits, if its not raining/snowing/weather hazard of some kind...., he will drive the mustang. He has a cobra intake along with a Steeda #19 cam and a set of used GT40s. I convinced him to run 9:1 CR so in the future boost is still in the question. Since he is set on the GT40s, how much can be ported off these heads to make in the same park as the AFRs? Would the stock 19lb injectors fuel this? He is on a mild budget, and if he won't outflow the injectors then why not save the money? He also has most bolt ons already, headers, hpipe, cat back, ignition gears, tires and welded sub frames etc. Any suggestions will be helpful

You couldnt port those gt40 heads to flow in the same state much less the same park as a set of AFR heads, 185's or the 165's. Thats not too say thier not a good headfor someone on a budget. You can get some respectable low and mid lift flownumbers from installing some 1.90/1.60 valves a good5 angle valve job, and some pocket porting. So far I havent seen these heads dont flow much better at lifts above .500"no matter what ya do.As for the injectors, If it were me I'd put the 24# injectors in.

ported gt40's won't flow like ported afr's. ported gt40's will flow like stock tfs heads.

You could port and polish ofcourse. But also have new seats put in and run a bigger valve. you could go with the GT40 intake and just have it gasket matched. then get a good cam and spring combo, as those aren't that much more.

You're going to want at least 24# injectors maybe an adjustable fuel reg. and a 190-255 lph fuel pump just in case if he wants boost or juice later down the road. I'd say 70MM TB and 75MM mass air.

Ok i was wrong then, lol i guess i was thinking of the tfs heads. Would the steeda #19 cam work well with heads/intake? He already has most supporting mods for the engine 70mm tb and is planning the purchase of a 75mm MAF but wanted to see which injectors he went with first. He has a world class T5, new water pump, power steering, AC etc etc. He is doing it from nose to tail but cant invest 40,000 into building a mean machine you know? Ill tell him you guys suggested the 24s and how well the heads will perform. He was considering the trickflow hci but he got the heads at $25/per fully assembled but they are getting redone anyway.

+1 on the 24's. He won't need to go higher, unless he's doing an SC. I went to 42's after I did h/c/i, and 347 stroker.

is this engine apart or will be? if so I would hook up with full auto on a 331 kit..if he has the gt-40's then there are way to get them to flow..if he doesn't then used aluminum heads are cheap and would be cost efficient to use and will stave away denotation
