RE: timing...
you adjust your timing this way. one remove the SPOUT plug. loosen up the dist. bolt then turn it i think clockwise[i havent touched a my car in about a year now so i forgot] when the motor starts to die you retarded yoru timing. when motor starts to rev up you went to far forward. also if your not using a timing light slighty turn it alittle then go for a test ride. keep doing this to you hear a slight ping. when you hear that you went ot far. you want to advance the timing to the car stops pulling hard. anything past that rather it be 12 or 14 or even 16 will make hte car run like crap. not every car is the same so just setting yours at 14 may be to much. if you got a timing light then just mark the balancer and then when you see the line at pointer your good to go but remember to do a test ride as you move it 2* at a time to see when the car quits pulling

RE: timing...
ok now im confused, I followed the instructions step by step, the factpry had the timing at 5* BTDC, I unplugged the spout connector, then I started the car I shined the timing light on the balancer, i turned the distributer till the arrow lined up to 14*, then i plugged the spout connector back in, the I tightened the disrtibuter and checked it again.I have it set a 14*, i dont hear any pinging or anything till I drive really hard in really high RPM, then I hear a faint ping, should I turn down the timing to 13* or will it not hurt the car if it pings a little in higher rpm.
