Default scrap or ressurect my 85?

well i have an 85 hatch that has some frame rot in the front wheel well area and its pretty bad, unfortunatly it was not visable until i started to take the engine apart to start the resto,( for an idea on how bad the rot it the sway bar on the passanger side rotted off)do u think it would be worth it to have a shop repair such damage (even if its possibel) or would it be better just to get a 4 banger with a good frame and use my 302/t5 combo in that, or even cut the front end off a junk yard pony and weld it on mine?

i am not an expert car builder or restorer, im just a teenager who loves american muscle cars and when i had the chance to pay for one myself i just dove right into it, so any help or suggestions would be great! thanks

since ur in michigan alot of cars have rust so a 4 banger might not be better off. depending on how bad it is it ocul dbe a few hundred bucks or a few thousand bucks. id befriend someone who has a welder and knos how tuo use it and have them teach u or have them do it. i am biased towards four eyeds since theyre basically the foxiest foxes out there i would never junk one. bnut idk wat type of boat ur in and ur other motivations
also a 4 banger doesnt ahve as much bracing for the extra power made by a v-8 and ud mess up ur torque boxes pretty fast with the swap. so ud have to beef up the 4 banger anyways

my 82 is like that, I debated, then bought 2 notches, then sold one but the 82 is still around. since it is a 4 eye its worth something but it depends how much money you have to put in it to make money off it when you sell it. I would personally fix it but thats because I dont want to see a 4 eye get killed!

if you can find someone that knows what they are doing they can cut the bad piece out and weld in a new one..should be able to find a donor car in a junk yard somewhere....
