Dont forget your driveshaft loop. You can't run d/r's and slicks without one. And launching it hard on slicks is taking a chance with the stock axles. But hey, thats what it's all about, breaking and fixing.

idk about your track, but mine doesnt require D/S loop for drag radials... only slicks

Bristol raceway is a PITA. I'd still feel safer with one though, since it's not a bank breaker.

I heard some tracks make you get extended studs to run slicks...

I agree, my wife had a stock 95 gt and it would get better time on street tires, dumping it at 3000rpm spinning through 1st. I barrowed some DRs for two runs and lost 1 tenth 2mph, It hooked and then bogged, at 4500rpm dump. Man you need some performance mods, you are spending $ in the wrong places. For the $300 the DRs cost you could have got more bang for the buck. I still have the same stock axles for 9 years now andthey still look great, I had them out last summer, and I have many slick launches (dump clutch at 6250 rev limiter on 150hp nos) more DR launchs (at 4000 rpm dump). IMO stock axles will do you fine since you are stock. Spend your axle money one something else.

if your car is "stock" you should be able to get the fastest runs off of street tires with out being able to really launch ETs will slow you down jus a bit. I couldnt launch my ETs and went 2 MPH slower

I'd say it's anyone's guess and depends on your car and how hard you drive it. Some people run 12s on stock axles, and my friend's axle broke on his 3rd launch with Nitto DRs on his stock 03 GT. If you're running DRs or slicks you're definitely taking a chance on hard launches.
