31 spline axles will be much more durable than 28 spline and 33 is better yet. Moser claimed something like be able to handle 25% more torque with a 31 over a 28 and I think 33 would be that much more too...

31's will handle as much power as a N/A small block ford can put out. And all c-clip elims do is hols in your axle in case it breaks. They don't do anything to make the rearend stronger.

I'm going to use superior axles because they have a lifetime warranty on the 31 splines. Worth an extra 40 bux IMO. And they come with new studs and axle bearings.

I run them on a couple of my cars. I take them to the same shop to be installed. You do have to cut the ends of the axle housing. I've never had any leaks from any of them. I'm about to put a set in with a spool in the car I just bought on Sunday when I convert it to 5 lug.
What did they charge you for the work?

So am I to guess that no one knows what has to be done to fit these?
oh, something i thik that has to do with cutting the backing plates on the axles i think... i cant remember off hand... it was like 2 years ago we put them in
Adders right, theres a little cutting involved but nothing much. HAve you guys looked at welding on the 9in housings and using 9in axles. The 9in housing retain the axle instead of using eliminators. And they are enclosed so they wont leak.

That is exacty how mine is set up. I have the 9 inch carriers welded to my 8.8. I have Moser 31 spline axles. Funny thing.......I wasted a wheel bearing not long ago and when I brought my axle in to get a new pressed on...they didn't believe it went to a Fox body Mustang.
