Default dss stroker?

what do ya think of the dss stroke short blocks? my original plans were for a kenne bell 2.2L blowzilla which i will have the funds for at the end of the month. then i got to thinking about just building up my motor first. i really dont know what is in my bottom end but i have gt-40 heads and a cobra intake manifold with a e-303 cam. im thinking should i go with a dss stroker first and spray it since i will have forged internals until i have more money or should i just but new heads cam and intake? i have about 3000 to spend and really can decided which way to go so help me out even if you have a different route to suggest fire away........... my current mods include...............

Cobra heads
Cobra intake manifold
70mm BBK Throttlebody
C&L Mass Air
E303 cam
BBK cold air
24# injectors
Granetelli alum. race radiator
Flex-a-lite electric fan
BBK longtube headers
BBK mid-pipe
Flowmaster American Thunder 40-series cat-back
3:73 gears
hurst short throw
MSD ignition
kenny brown sub-frame connectors
kenny brown k-member
BBk under-drive pulleys
aluminum drive shaft
17" chrome cobra r with BFG KDW up front and ET street in the rear

I'll give you a hint. Buy a DSS block, and you just wasted money on another stock 302 block. Stay away from DSS. If you're goin the crate route, look at CHP

I love my dss 331, the torque is outrageous. I've only had it for one thousand miles but have no complaints with dss, even though it's not running correctly right now, but not because of dss!

CHP is a good crate company...I've heard a lot of bad things about dss, problems and otherwise. As near as I can tell they use a stock 302 block, so there are no gains in power handling capability

Okay you have a nice set up. A 331, 342, or a 347 will make a world of difference. More torque. Remember torque gets you moving........a nice power adder, will make things even better. If I had 3k I would put the stroker in and spray the crap out of it, and then re-save for a KB. A forged short block can take a bigger beating.....

Just go ahead and get the Blowzilla.

1. It will give best bang for the buck
2. Install the easiest
3. and have fewest headaches after install.

Then save up for a SnowPerformance water/meth kit and boost
the hell out of it.

Everytime I swap heads on an engine
there seems to be tons of bugs to work thru.
