im still on a hunt to find a 5L for my self. well today i was looking in the paper and i found a 1989 mustang cobra GT. first off was there even a cobra back in 89. the cars got 170KM on it the ad says its mint with a new clutch 4:11 gears headers, leather, 16" pony rims, new battery. the guys asking 3995$ CDN. wat do u think of this. wats a decent milage range for the 89-92 mustangs, all the ones i see have either 150 - 200 km on them. thanks

the only Cobras before 93 were Canadian GTs. They're the same as the GTs but with the Cobra name added.

im not fimiliar with km's or canadian currency but from what i do know dosent sound like a bad deal

its just a canadian gt... as for milage... most of what i saw was 100+ miles(not km), but i found mine for $4500(US), and it had 66k miles on it....those 4.11s should be fun

Seems like a fair enough deal to me provided the car checks out mechanically. He'd probably take $3500 though, so low ball him at $3250 and negotiate up to $3500. Also, bringa magnet with you and gently put it on and pull it off all around the body. If the magnet falls off, you know it's seen some bondo. A lot of these Canadian Mustangs have rusted out and been fixed by hacks.
