The 4.6 was offered in the 94 and 95 lincolns...but they waited until 96 to put it in the mustang.

WELL i have to believe that ford would know whats best... i watched the discovery channel and they were given the go ahead to make an 05 mustang into a straight up race car. they scrapped th 4.6 engine and built a bad *** 5.0. i believe as does ford racing that the 5 liter is definately a better engine. the 4.6 is a healthy alternative designed to meet the ever growing concern for emission control and such.

the only advantage the 4.6 mustangs would have is that ford started using stronger transmissions but give them both tremec and 3.73's i know the 5.0 would win

One word... Displacment... .
Not necessary true...lol
Tell that to Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Subraru....
Meaning the RX-8, EVO, and WRX STI...

The MACH 1 has the normally aspirated 4.6 and some have been know to run 12's completely stock with slicks..

4.6 can handle more power.... Eqaully modded + supercharger = 4.6 wins b/c it starts w/ more hp. Not to mention power loss b/c of age, etc...

P.S. I have beaten 3 5.0's and lost to 2 of them (modded) w/ my non-pi car.... All close races, but I never "got my *** handed to me"

P.S. THis is in the wrong place if you expect to get a balanced opinion.

How can you compare japanese cars running forced induction to a N/A engine in regards to displacement? of course a turbo will get an engine half the size to run alright. But in regards to the ford racing car? was that a push rod 5.0? or just a 4.6 stroked to 5? As much as I love my 5.0 i have to say that an engine can flow alot better with 4 valves, so its a hard call. I think in the long run, with enough mods, the 5.0 will easily win though just due to displacement.
