Default Explorer Intake Manifold

I was thinking that as a temporary intake, I would take the intake manifold from a 96-01 explorer. It's supposed to be the gt-40 intake i hear but i was wondering if the upper intake manifold would work (ex eliminate egr or not, different tb spots for tb, etc.). This is just a temporary thing; because i will purchase a new lower when i get my kenne bell sc. Hood clearance is no issue btw. Any information is greatly asked, but my main question is if the explorer upper will work on the 5.0 and if not what modifications need to be made(if not too extreme). Thank you.

why buy this, then a brand new lower for the kb? do you plan on using a stock lower for the kb or the gt40 style lower? i dont see why ud get this, then buy a new lower w. it... seeing that the lower to what you want to get now is the right one for the kb...

the lower is for the kb, but when i put on the kb im getting new heads roller rockers, injectors, lower intake gt40 for the blowzilla flowzilla combo. This will be a quick way to gain hp since im going to a junkyard to get the intake manifold.

maybe im not understanding right... your going to buy this upper and lower, then buy a NEW lower when you get the kb? why not just use the explorer(gt40) lower your going to get now for the kb?

ive heard somewhere that the intake from the explorer lacks something the gt40 from ford racing has. is this true? if not then i agree, there would be no reason to buy a new one
