Default Installing new shifter?

I am ordering my new MGW or Pro 5.0 (deciding right now) and was wondering how difficult it would be to install? Is it worth spending the money to have a shop do it? I personally would like to do it myself not for financial reasons but for experiance.

It's not difficult but I know mine was frustrating. The bolts to the factory shifter or shift boot cover (can't remember which) are pretty much impossible to get off without a ratchet wrench so make sure you have one before you start.

if you can read....you can do it. it comes with instructions about 2 paragraphs long and its soooooo simple to put on its not even funny. have a ratchet ready and buy a new plastic top hat cover to go on the shift ball and the rest is self explanitory

It really isnt that hard if you do it the right way and have common sense. And it should be assumed if you are working on your own car you have some basic tools(ie. a ratchet) common people.
