WD-40, vice-grips, and a box wrench. WD-40 to spray on the nut and let it sit for a few minutes. Vice Grips to grab and hold the shaft of the shock, and a Box wrench so you don't strip the nut.

need a shock wrench form auto zone thewy will loan it to you or you can have someone take a tube holder(like the rubber ones from sears, etc) around the body of the shock to hold it from turning while u turn the nut on top

I agree with derf....which is actually my name backwards (Fred). I would use vise grips to hold the piston. I hope u dont have a problem with the lower bolt. Sometimes I need to heat suspension parts up to get em off.

I had my brother hold the shock and I got it off with a 9/16" socket. Getting them on was a different story. We had to use an impact to get the suckers down.

Impact will work. Also, PB Blaster is a great penetrating oil. I am a WD40 guy all around, but when it is really stuck, I use PB Blaster.
