sn 95 starter on fox

RE: sn 95 starter on fox
I just went to install mine and found there is a soleniod on the starter to. SoI made a jumper wire for it and now it sounds, as if the starter momentarily hesitates before it engages or as it disengages. I'm not sure which though. You can hear a grinding noise when you hit the key and as you let off. But the starter itself sounds different. Could having 2 solenoids in the circuit or using the jumper wire becausing this?

mine just seems to act like the gear stay engaged to the fly wheel for a split second and it makes a grinding noise. It actually doesn't sound like the teeth are meshing correctly. but a sn95 flywheel is the same part number as a fox
