Default Timing Question

Can a EFI 5.0 run 180 degrees out? I was checking the timing on my 90 LX and could not see the timing mark yet, if I shine the timing light under the car 180 degrees oppisite of the balancer I can see the timing mark. Help....Note: my car runs great but no timing mark? (I did pull the little plug on the harness next to the dist before checking the timing and connected the timing light pickup to the #1 plug wire on passinger side)

It may try to run, but you would know something serious was wrong.

Another problem could be that the outer ring of the damper may have rotated. This will happen when the damper gets old, and the rubber ring starts to deteriorate.
