Default Gears- pls help

I'm having my 3.73 put in tomorrow. Aside from the gears and the oil that willbe needed to change, what else will they be or will need to be changed? My mechanic was mentioning something about bearings and maybe if the axles are still good. Is that correct? Let meknow if anything else will need to be changed...

it would be a good idea to check the axle bearings and seals.dont let him rack up a bunch of stuff if you dont need it. altho it would be a good idea to replace the clutches and steels in the trac loc, cince it will be out anyway.

the spline is at the end of the axle, it slides into the carrier.you cant replace the spline without getting a new(different) axle.the only thing that should be wore out on the axle is where the seal rides, it can leak gear oil onto your brakes.or the bearing surface.

you will have to change your speedo gear to match up with the 3.73s or your speedometer will be way off.
