Default Cutting out the fat

Ok, well ill be swapping engines in the 94 to a 408 stroker. If my research is correct, the 351 weights about another 100 pounds over the 302, so i need to shave the pounds, what ill can i do? So far I know I can

Use an aluminum radiator
Tubular K member
Carbon or Fiberglass Hood
Move the Battery to the trunk
Use Aluminum heads
Take out the rear seats
Lose some weight off my body too

I know that will save weight, but im guessing im gonna come out even because of the things ill need to do to stiffen up the car like subframe connectors, roll bar, and all those other little things that add weight like nos and what not.

Ok guys what else is there?

Battery to the trunk will just redistribute weight, not remove it. All of those are good, honestly you're worrying too much about it. a 351 with aluminum heads will weigh pretty much the same as a stock 302, the difference isn't significant/noticable. What's your build like? (408, not body composition)

I knew the battery would just relocate the weight, but i figured it would help a bit. As far as the build goes,

Forged rotating assembly
I was going to use afr 205s, but r.barn suggested I get a set of canfields and a custom cam built by camshaft innovations, so canfield 212s and a custom cam.
Trickflow 75mm Intake
75mm TB
90mm maf
42lb injectors
Underdrive pulleys
Long tubes
200 shot of juice
Tweecer System

You know the typical stuff, then, adjustable fpr, fuel rails, cold air intake, tko600 tranny, 3.73s and so on.

I have the saleen bumpers. I bought both of them in brandnew shape from some guy for 150 bucks. He bought them and never used them, im gonna get new seats, I was thinking some recaros. Fiberglass fenders sound pricey, what do they usually cost, also who sells them. Oh, and what are bogarts.

Bogarts are some really light wheels. Weld wheels are very light as well. Swapping to weld wheels generally saves about 50 pounds. Deleting the ac and smog pump saves you about another 20 pounds. The tubular k member can save anywhere from 40-60 pounds. After that you've made up for the added weight of the 351.

i had the d&d k-member kit (tubular k-member, coil overs and a arms) i think its suppose to save 100lbs off the front. if the car is drag u want to get the weight off the front anyways.

i have seen fiberglass fenders for around 300

for the notch as far as weight savings heres what i am doing.

bogarts, remove front sway bar, fiberglass: fenders front bumper, hood, doors, trunk lid, back bumper, racing seats, remove back seat, ac, smog and ps. spare tire, and other small items.
