Default NO MORE EMISSIONS TESTING

Im a little late on this but starting feb. 1,2007 1995 and older cars no longer need to take emissions tests in the state of Illinois. So im getting flows this summer and now i plan on getting a new off roadH or X pipe. I have some question to though.....and I know they come up kinda often. What is the difference in sound delivery between the 2 pipes or is there no difference? Who makes a good off road H or X pipe? Im asuming my check eng. light will come on..... how can I stop that? and can I remove the smog pump assembly or is that needed? It is a daily driver and I live in the city if that matters. thanx

Your check engine light shouldnt come on, for the Flows go with an H pipe imo.

are you sure a 95 is going to be exempt? mufflers aren't going to make your check engine light come on. You can even remove the cats from your car and you wont have the light come on. Not on an OBD1 car, but if you take off the smog pump assembly it will come one.

I know the mufflers wont make the eng. light come on... I am not that stupid. Im talking about getting an off road H or X pipe with no cats. Im looking at the BBK off road X pipe. It cost 200. Is getting rid of the cats going to make a big difference in sound?

Ive had the car since june.... I think I should of got a notice for the test by now. They almost always send it within a the first year. This is the exact qoute from the illinois site. doesnt talk about previous tests at all.

"Recent changes to the Vehicle Emissions Inspection Law of 2005 provide that vehicles of model year 1995 and older that are in compliance with the law as of February 1, 2007, will no longer be subject to emissions testing."

Any company other than BBK for off road pipes for a reasonable price. I leaning towards an H pipe because thats the only suggestion Ive got and its cheaper. Any buddy suggest X pipe?
