Default 351w block

how much hp & torque can a stock 351w block take? i was told around 700 but im calling bs especially if the 302 can only handle 450. also are the 351 and 302 the same blocks cuz some people bore and stroke the 351 to a 408 and the 302 can only go to a 347 if im not mistaken; just trying to clarify if they are entirely different blocks but have interchangeable parts?

they are entirely different blocks, deck heights of 8.2 and 9.480 and 9.503 for the windsor. Main bearing journal size, inch taller and wider, different oil pans and so forth. They can handle 600-700 provided rpm is limited and you know what you doing. Fill the block to the bottom of the pump holes with rock and use an early block and 700 is very doable

351W is 4 bolt main, so that is definitely a large part of the reason it can hold more.
