one piece of advice : have the blinker for the alarm hidden so people walking by cant see it. thats how stuff get stolen

If you have a MSD you can put a switch on it so there is no ignition pretty easily. You just have to put the switch so it is hard to find and remember to turn it on and off, another switch on the fuel pump or starter wouldn't be a bad idea. I have both and use them when parked in a "shady" area. Also a back-up battery so if they unplug the the battery to shut off the alarm it keeps going off. Put the brain of the alarm in an interesting place so they can't just cut the wires going to it will help, this willkeep the alarm going. And going with a higher name alarm will also help. I personally like the crime guard systems that crutchfield sells, but they are like $100 and up. I have the $200 one and the beeper that goes with it. The beeper is nice since if you are in a bar or something you know when you car is being messed with. But know that all these are just ways to keep your car safer. If someone really wants you car they can get it. Just makes it more worth someones while to steal a different car.
