Default Water temp sensor problem!

Ok, so my car was running a little hot after swapping out electric fans, possibly need to burp the system. I decided to lose the factory Volvo temp sensor in favor of a standard triple set of Sunpro gauges.

I removed the electric temp sensor from the lower manifold, then tried to screw the new probe in . No, doest fit. It looked like there was some thread adapter. I started to unscrew the adapter and…. *TING!*… friggin head snapped off. Being brass, it didn’t take much. So, here I am trying to remove this helicoil of sorts. I cant get the damn thing out, and even if I do, I don’t understand how the probe is going to fit snugly in the hole because when I thread in the fitting, what’s to keep the probe from falling through? I don’t see where it’s going to seat the probe, so what keeps it tight?

93 LX FiveO, I should have mentioned that, the brass fitting is stripped completely. I've got to get the brass part outa there. None the less, I still dont understand what is to keep the probe from falling through once I do get the fitting to thread into intake.

aode06, why are you suggesting I swap intakes? I dont think I've screwed up that bad.... (I dont think)...

Yup, and come w/ adaptors if i remember correctly. Sorry bro, you get what you pay for. Drill down thru the center of what's left of the sensor and use an easy out to remove it. Shouldn't be a problem.
