Did the fronts with out compressing them at all? Your front control arm had to be like at a 90 degree angle when trying to fit the springs back in. How did that work? I had to customize a similar external compressor tool like this one

to get it to work. I cut the shafts shorter so I could move it around the spring.

This is what we need.

I shoulda' ordered one. But now the job is done and I have something that works.

yeah ive never used compressors on a mustang. But i have been in the situation before when the externals wont fit in. sompress them out of the car, tie them down with allot of saftey wire, allot. put them in, put it all back together and cut the wire.

The only time you should have to use spring compressors is on drag springs. Your supposed to remove the control arm to k member bolts when swaping springs. It makes instalation a whole lot easier.

I also loosened the sway bar links and the arm fell down and i just took a pry bar and put it under the spring, and pryed it out... Once the sway bar links are out, it comes down to where they are pretty much sitting in the control arm, and only like a very little falling out... Give her a little pry and she'll come right out. Took me about an hour and i had no idea how to do it when i started... Good luck

I just changed mine out as well. Did not use a spring compressor and it was a piece of cake. Removed sway bar end links and disconnected tie rod ends and they just fell out.
I also removed the sway bar which helped a ton. The old springs did just fall out but without dropping the control arm, (which I don't think I could have done) I cound'nt have done it with out a compressor.

That would have been nice, and I know what you mean, but I was working on the floor off of jackstandsby myself and it didn't seem feasable.

Im assuming it took you 5+ hours to get the springs done, where-as if you had just disconnected your sway bar end links, you could have been dont in under 3 hours.

I swapped out my FMS C springs for Eibach Sportlines in 2.5 hours. It took me .5 for the two rears, at once, and 1 hour for the fronts, each.

on the floor, with hand tools, and a floor jack!
