Right now I am running a 255/40/17 and the OD of the tire is just under 26". I am buying some 255/60/15 MT ET and the OD is just over 27". What will this do to my gear ratio?

noting you willl notice, reduce the final ratio by a bit

Well, I can get the 235/60/15, that is the same height that I have now, but I think it is too narrow. It might help me in the quarter to get a bit taller tire, I seem to run out of gear

Anyone with experince? I have a T5 with 3.73's....what size should I get? 26" or 27"

well , id also make sure they are wider.


honestly, I like the 5.0 to sit as low as possible and have traction and decent ratio.

I would go wider, but the 275/60/15 is 28" tall, which I think is too tall. I want to stick with atleast withthe 255 I am running now...But anyone with first hand experience will help me out a lot

BTW, this set up is just for the track, so looks aren't an issue.

I believe 255/40-17 is too small of a tire to start with.

height, 255/45-17 or 245/45-17 is the right size.

yup, i have 245/40's on the same rim, and they look retarded, 255/40's arent much taller
