Before this discussion turns any more into a treatise on the Mustang as a rolling mattress, I'll say "Thanks- I'm convinced." I realize I don't just want another 5.0, I NEED a 5.0. The thought of my kids' safety in a droptop crossed my mind, but like I said, this will be an around town pleasure vehicle. I'll save the highspeed blasts for me. My dad would occasionaly drive my sister and I around sitting on the cargo shelf of a Sunbeam Tiger, so I don't feel too guilty about being in car seats in a Mustang.

yea try doin that in a 1995 civic. it was bad, and me and the girl are pretty big people, we were hittin sh*t and it was not that good, but it was great.

i dont know my son rides in my 91 gt (not a vert) . the wife's siter has1- 99 gt and a 2001 both verts and she wont let him ride in there for nothing. she says its not safe incase of a roll over theres nothing in between the kids and the tar. i see her point but im a mustang guy i dont think of crashing i think of cruising lol. but i guess its up to u if u really need a vert then i would do it but if u can get a just a gt then i would do that..plus i always hated verts for the one reason of messing with the top its just one more electrical thing to deal with not to mention it getting worn and then u got to replace it and they leak..but ive never had one i def would like a hot day with the top down tho..all personal prefrence..i just aksed the gf the best car seat to get is one that is 5 point harness. and my gf is a flight medic and a certified suergon so she knows her saftey lol.
