fix a leaning seat?

RE: fix a leaning seat?
If you have access to a welder it is real easy to fix. Take the seat out and take off the trim patrs until you can see the frame more clearly. If its bent or broken just straighten it, clamp it so it stays straight, then reinforce it at the weak points by welding small steel gussets to it. On mine I ran s.steel angle across the entire rear and welded it in to prevent any twist permanently . There are weak spots around the holes where the spring part is located . Mine was stress cracked there so I Mig Tacked small round welds to the areas that dont interfere with the remounting of the spring release mechanism top fix this wek area. Then for extra security I welded a triangular gusset to the back of the frame so the seat frame cant fall backwards . This will keep the original frame strong for the life of the vehicle. Just dont weld the bottom side of the back gusset to the monting hole leg because then the slder wont work. This might sound confusing but if you ever took your seat out to try and fix it you would see that you could definately do it on the cheap if You have access to a mig welder . I fixed mine for free!!
