The biggest downside to an afr head, is the valve spring it comes with is useless and should be changed. I have used TFS heads 10+ years ago and they always work well. Plus side to the canfield is they rock and can be had with a spring that you need right out of the box. Not everyone runs them like an afr or TFS and thats reason alone. Who do you think makes all of Jegs private label heads? Thats right, canfield.

I hate to say this but none because you need to put that $$$ in that transmission which is your wink point and the heads will only make that more apparent
Im putting a shift kit in it (already have it) and getting a stall converter (probably 2400).
Other than that Im not doing anything else to the transmission. Im keeping the AOD in there.

Best for your money
World Products Windsor Sr Cylinder Heads
Valves = 2.02 & 1.6in + 200cc intake runners, C.Chamber is 64cc (has its +'s & -'s), they are iron but they are cheap when compared

Best Aluminum Head I found for yur' muny'
Edelbrock Performer RPM Cylinder Heads
Valves = 2.02 & 1.6, 170cc intake runners, C.Chamber is 60cc

The Best deal I found was on bare (not assembled) heads
Edelbrock Victor Series Race Cylinder Heads
Valves = 2.125 & 1.625, 240cc I.runners & 80cc E.runners, C.Chamber is only 47cc (for a N/A)
Thanks. I definately want assembled aluminum heads.
I was actually going to buy a set of those Edelbrocks off my brother's friend but he cant afford to change the heads on his 331 this year so he's keeping them on.
He actually said I should get AFR's instead of the Edelbrocks he has though.

Are the AFR springs useless even with a mild street cam? Im not putting any crazy race cam in the car.

Are the heads Canfield makes for Jeg's the same exact heads as sold under the Canfield name or are they of lesser quality and performance?
