I have 4.10s with a manual, its really steep.....Maybe even too steep, but still good. I bought the car with gears already in, so i'm not compaining, but if i was gonna do it i would do 3.73

Gears arent bad, around 150, the install is what kills you.

3.73's for a manual, I have ridden in both a manual with 4.10's and my hatch with 3.73's... the 3.73's are an all around friendlier gear for everyday driving if you ask me.

Gears are best, hands down. But they're gonna run a bit more than $300. Figure 150 for gears, another 100-ish for a rebuild kit, 10 for a speedo gear, and 200-300 for install. But it's worth it. Do gears first

+1 on 3.73s. Might want to think about an off road h-pipe or x pipe. Underdrive pulleys are pretty cheap.
