Default nitrous purge

anyone know how to install a purge kit? the wiring diagram is pretty easy to understand but what i dont get is i got a fitting with a little ball in it will a hole through it and a piece that screws over the top of it. also i get a metal tube and a rubber tube. im prolly just stupid but i can figure out how the tube will stay in the fitting when the nitrous comes out because im guess it comes out at a pretty high velocity capable of blowing the tube right out. its a nitrous express purge kit anyone know whats up?

When you feed the tubing through the center of the hole and then screw the cap over it, it will hold it in place. It doesn't seem like it would hold but it does I have a dual purge setup the same way.

yeah but i did that and you can just pull the metal tube out of the fitting easily by hand so how will the nitrous under pressure not blow it out?

Did you place the cap over it and screw it down tight? Kinda hard to describe without pictured but I'll do my best.

First I took the "source" of the nitrous which was an elbow fitting I think, but it doesn't realyl matter. You're just looking for the ftting where it will come from. Then I took the cap that screws over the source and turned it upside down. The cap should have a hole in the center of if for the tube to run through. With the cap upside down, i pushed the tube through it almot to the end, so that just a little was sticking out of the bottom of the cap. Still holding it upside down, I then took the little "ball" with the hole in it and I then placed that ball over the tube as well. So now you have the purge tube going through both the cap and the ball.

After that I flipped it right-side-up and placed the cap over the source. The ball itself was too large to actualyl fall through the hole of the source. As I tightened the cap, it placed a lot of pressure of the ball which , in turn, placed the pressure on the purge tube and held it firmly in place.

It's difficult to explain without images, but that's how I did it. Never had a problem with it blowing out and it was actualyl pretty difficult to pull it out by hand. I just had to make sure to get the cap really tight.

the threaded cap goes on the tube first, then put the compression fitting on it and put the tube in the end of the purge solenoid, then screw the end on tight, it is a compression fitting, when you tighten it it flares in the end of the compression sleeve tight against the tube holding it in place
