why can't i beat an ls1????
ok, so i have a 90 5.0 with a stock bottom end, gt-40 heads, f303 cam, 4:10 gears, 5 speed, full exaust,oh ya and a zex nitrous system with a 100 shot hooked up. i have two friends that have camaro's and my car can't beat them. (both of them are pretty much stock.....intake, exaust ect)
lately i've been having issues with the nitrous........it only hits hard when i'm not racing anyone. i just bought a bottle heater, so hopefully that helps. when i'm not on the nitrous my car feels so slow, my buddy's can run donuts around me. wtf is up?

dude with and exhaust and a good intake and a good driver u can make an ls1 run high 12's they bottem neck the hell out of those motors with the intake... chevy has always done that to the camaro so the vette is a goot amount faster

im not a chevy guy.......i ****ing hate camaro's, they look like a damn doorstop, but i don't know if there's something wrong with my car or what. i haven't spent any money on an intake manifold, throttle body, or any chips cause people have told me they don't do much and they're a **** load of money.am i choking my motor? it's ****ing pissing me off because my two buddy's give me **** all the time.

Id get an intake and throttle body. They dont do a lot as your first mods, but with upgraded heads theyv become a bottleneck. With that shot of nitrous though you oughtta be able to take stock LS1's. Dont buy off the shelp chips, their pointless. Bumping the timing does the same thing, but with nitrous it should be retarded anyways. Hows it running? And what do you mean the nitrous only hits hard when your not racing anyone?

You should definatly be able to hang right with if not beat an ls1 with those mods....
You are being held back by not having an intake and stock TB and MAF....Get a tune tooo.....

LT1's shouldn't be a problem with those mods...Especially with a shot of nitrous.... An ls1 is a little bit different beast...Don't forget that they start out with 360 horse to the crank... That's a long ways for a 215 hp 12 year old motor to make up for... I'd say get some suspension work done and get your car off the line like a bat out of hell and maybe you can pull enough on him to beat them. LS1's pull hard in higher gears and rpm ranges... If you notice, very few spin either...
