ZF 6 Speed in a 95 GT?
Just currious. A friend of a buddy of mine has a brand newZF 6 speedin a crate and wants to know what would be needed to put it into the 95 gt stang? i told him bellhousing, trans cross member, and might need to relocate the trans shifter somehow.. i'm not sure if there is different shifter mounting spots on it or not or he might have to cut a hole in his floor. also the input shaft might need to be changed... but these were all guesses by me. Does anybody know anything about this swap? Thanks guys.

what did they use that tranny for??? but yea a bellhousing, cross member, driveshaft (most likely), the shift location may be ok, but if it's not it is a LOT of fab work to do that 99% of the people on here aren't qualified to do and the ones that are prolly wouldn't know where to start on a project like that (i would prolly charge 700$ min. for the labor to do something like that and i still wouldn'tpromise that it would work right) the hole in the floor is prolly the easiest way, then fab a new center counsel

i think they used the ZF's in c4 vettes and f-bodys up till 96 or something? i figured it would be alot of work but i guess the guy found it in a storage facility that he paid the back money owed on and it is a brand new tranny still in the crate (nos part i guess). he was just currious as to how hard it would be to swap it in cause he thinks a 6 speed would be cool and different in a sn-95.
And by the way, thanks for the help with my T-5 questions man. i'll start with the pilot bearing and if it still does it i will just get the rebuild kit and do the rebuiild.. lol.. so be ready for more questions if that happens.

no problem with the t-5...and the f bodies used t-5's also in the 80's (for sure) and early 90 (i think) find out how long it is from the bellhouseing the center of the shifter houseing and measure the length of the input shaft too make sure the end fits in the pilot bearing and then compare it to the t-5's and let me know and i'll let ya know if it's close enough
