hmmmmmmm so sould i buy an off the shelf cam for now while i run N/A and buy a custom grind after i get my supercharger, or just get dish pistons and run a high compression? i plan on running 93 octane anyway...
yes just throw a cheap NA cam in first. also if you ever plan on running a blower you should probably work it out to lower compression, so you're probably going to need dished pistons. unless you want to rebuild the motor twice and buy slugs twice

Get real. A pump gas 408 should go 9s N/A. Once you have it, you're not going to buy a $4k blower for a 408. By the time you have that much money, you'll have grown up and not want the KB. Buy a custom cam to begin with.

^^^^ LoL I used to talk like that too [8D]
yeah but this also isn't my DD
Yea, neither are mine. Not trying to put you down or anything I just dont think alot of people realize how much money it takes to build those kind of setup's. If you got the cash, more power to ya!
well... i got the car... i already started stripping the paint and doing the body work, i'm about 20 minutes away from having the engine/trans/drivshaft out... then im stripping the interior and im gonna paint it which i have a tank and i have guns on order and i know what paint im getting... and i have 2 grand in my bank for the block and im saving about 80 bux a week towards the rest of the project, and every dollar i spend towards the project my dad is matchign me cause we're doing it together so... i think i'm actually gonna get it done. first body/paint, then the engine/trans/driveshaft/ then suspension/ then asthetics.

oh and im not so sure im gonna end up getting the supercharger after all... and if i do i'll just buy a new cam at the time... would dish or flattop give me a higher compression ratio? and could it still be run on 93?

With a 408 you'll most likely need a dish piston to run pump gas.

Go w/ something like the TFS Stage 2 or a bigger Comp Cam for that big of a motor (until you get it setup and can put in a custom cam). Anything else will be pretty mild...Although mild on that motor wouldn't be bad
