Default Engine temp

I noticed my car has been running hot when I turn on the a/c. The temp goes up to 210. If I turn it off it drops down to about 190. I have a 160 thermo and I'm running a black magic fan. My timing is at 12 degrees. The only pulley I'm running is a race crank pulley. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

The only thing I can think of is that the crank pulley is slowing the water pump down...

you could have a slight tear in your head gasket like i do. i got no leaks, no smoke, no mixture but i get overheating. you can have a tear on the gasket and have coolant into the intake which could cause it. also you could have a few blocked coolant passages in the block. or fan just isnt large enough

Yeah but if I had a slight tear eventually I would notice coolant missing from the radiator don't you think? My coolant level stays full. Usually when I've had coolant leaks coming from an intake gasket or head gasket you notice it when you look at the oil cap. (sludge)

Are you still running the stock coolant fan assembly? If so you might have a bad fan clutch....In my case I'm using a black magic electric fan so that can't be the case. If I'm not mistaken the black magic fan pulls more cfm than the stock one...
