Default saftey and roll cage....?

how much safer is a fox 90'-93' with a roll cage in a car accident?...or crashing at higher speed say into a tree or tele pole, are you more likley to survive in a crash with a cage, than without a cage...I want to be safe incase a crash occurs, will a roll cage make a difference in saving my life if say I a another car t-bones me and I have a roll cage will it make a difference? will i survvie a high speed crashes. especially if I have a 10 turbo street mustang. whats you out put on roll cages.

my opinion is that roll cages arent meant to be used alone, there meant to be used w. a helmet, and some kind of 4 or 5 pt harness... if ur gonna do it... do it right...

Hitting a tree fast I would say it would help, but not a ton. You are still decelerating (Spelling) very quickly, but if you are going 30 or so it would help keep the car from crumpling into you legs and chest. Rolling the car over it will help greatly due to increased support. Being t-boned it would help alot as well I would think. You have the bar that goes beside you to help slow the other car down before it gets to you, and it would spread the force of the other car out to the other parts of the car (If that makes any sense). I'm not an engineer (Spelling) but thats just my 2 cents.

i drive a vert, so in my case, its a large part of adding safety to the ride.

car crashes are not predictable. you are adding an additional frame to the inside of the car, but that doesnt make it indestructable. its impossible to say whether or not it WILL protect you in the event of a crash, but it certainly has more potential to protect you than if it were not there.

it also does some good in adding to the integrity of the chassis

Um there is a reason why fast cars have rollcages......however they are to be used in conjunction with a 5 point harness and helmet. If you are using the car as a daily driver then do not cage the car....it is a pain in the ***. Trust me. If cages are so safe then the government would mandate them. Remember if you hit another car with yours it will destroy the other.

me too. my head is about 2" from my halo and every time i get it i think about how it could kill me if i hit my head on it. a cage wont keep you safer if you hit a tree. prevention is the best solution. driver safer so you wont hit anything

a friend of mine wrecked his mustang, lost it going down a snowy highway and rolled it into the median and the cops all said if the car hadnt been caged he would have never made it. I think its a good idea to have one.
