Default ford racing cam

need help, friend bought his car last year with ford racing cam and 306 motor. were trying to adjust rockers to factory specs 18-25 foot lbs but when we do the first cylinder we adjust the vaves touch the top of the pistons so we cant adjust any more cylinders. does this on all cylinders. then we tryed torquing 16 foot lbs, same outcome.

Did he pull those heads off that car? How do you know they are hitting the piston?

the only thing that you could do is take one head off to make shure!

I think your right, I bet the pistons dont have valve relifs

but car was running fine before we tryed to adjust the rockers. just one rocker was loose. so we decide to adjust all of them. we did it exhaust down=adjust intake, intake down them going up=adjust exhaust 3/4 of turn after zero lash. that worked but there was no compresion, motor turned over to free. so then we did it adjust rockers at tdc to 16 foot lbs, thats when they started I guess hitting the pistons so we coudnt turn over by hand. this **** should be easy.
