EVERY engine uses oil! silly noobie
j/k, its normal for 5.0s to start burning oil after what 15-20 years, when the domestic lifespan is 7 years, things go bad after time
my old 5.0 used a quart every 1000 miles [

My engine use's 1/2 to 3/4 of a quart between oil changes. 1986 74,000 miles One person I talked to said it's not that uncommon for this particular motor. What do you guy's think

find out where the oil is going.
Do you have any oil drips on the motor? You will have to get under the car with a light to do a thorough search.
Are you burning oil? Is the exhaust 'blue' at startup, or during/after WOT?
Is there any oil in the intake manifold? Simply looking inside the Throttle Body can give a good sense of what is going on.
Is the pcv system in good condition? A clogged pcv/screen can cause several issues.
