Default Car buying dilemma on my hands.

Hey there, in a nearby city very close to me is sitting a 1989 Mustang GT bone stock with 103,000 miles on it. Frame and body are 99% rust free, pretty clean, with a small chip in the windshield. The guy wants $3100which is about all I have at the moment. Seems like a great deal right?Heres where my dilemma begins.... First of all it has red interior, which I don't really like too much and.....It's an AUTO. Not saying I hate autos or have anything against them, butif I'm going tohave a sports car, Iwant the feeling of having more control over the car. Do you guys think I should buy it and keep it? Buy it and try to make some money by selling it for more? Or just forget about it all together? Like I said, it's very close to me. All the other Mustangs I've ever went for have been at least an hour and a half away from me. This is killing me.

Well in my honest opinon, don't buy it if your not going to like it. But I can tell you from personal experience that driving an auto 5.0, is still driving a sports car. Also, no one here will argue the fact that a built aod is right on par, if not BETTER then a t 5. I personally would rather have a built aod then a t5. It's very hard nowadays to find these cars 99% rust free and at 3100dollars, thats a steal imo. I payed 3k for mine, minor rust and around 140k miles. Exterior is white, interior is red and its a auto 5.0, 91 gt. I don't regret buying it in the least, and I know I could turn around and sell it for 4k if i wanted to.

It's not really that, its that I've already driven an hour and a half or more 3 times now to look at cars that weren't in the least bit the same as what was described. I've actually seen this one.

If it's not what you want, don't buy it... Theres a ton of them out there... Look at the ad's in here, Craigs list, Google it... You'll find what you want...

If it is not something you want to drive dont buy it. dont just pick something becuase it is close.. Keep looking something will come up close and wait for what you want.. When u wait you can always find a good deal.

K thanks, I'm currently going to look at a black88 GT with only 60,000 miles on it. Interiors gray and yes it's a manual. It's a little more expensive but my mom's willing to work with me on it. Wish me luck.

Good luck, and go for the manual. I looked for about a year to find the mustang I wanted.
