RE: NEED HELP WITH TIMING
First thing I would do is use a marker to outline the marks on your balancer. White our yellow work good. Hookup the timing lite on the #1 plug wire. Take the little plug out of the wires next to the distributor. Make sure the car is at normal temp. Loosen the distributor holdown. I usually snug it up a bit so I can still turn the distributor but it wont move on its own. start the car shine the lite at the timing marks and turn the distributor until you get it where you want it. Counter clockwise will retard it and clockwise will advance it.

Did you have it running once? Where you sure that you put the distributor back in the correct way? Bring #1 to TDC on the compression stroke. Drop the distrbutor in so the rotor is pointing on the #1 terminal on the dist cap. If you did all that it sohould start up! If not turn it a little bit either way while trying to start it, it should fire up if there arnt other problems.

If not are you sure the cam and crank marks are in the correct Position >>>
did you set the disy in : in the #1 Position >>>>
do you have the plug wires in the right order.
