All right mustang gurus I need your insight and wisdom. Ive been debating on what to do with my 94 V6 coupe when I return to the states. Ive been seriously mulling over whether to drop a 5.0 down in her or go a bit bigger with a 5.8. I guess what I need to know is will I be able to use a 5.0 wiring harness and CPU or am I gonna have to do some searching for strict 5.8 stuff. Im pretty sure the harness will work but the CPU is iffy. Also is there any difference between the 7.5 and 8.8 rear end housing itself. Obviously gears are different but are the housing compatible with each other? Please help me!!!!!

oh and yes the 5.0 would be a 347 stroker and the 5.8 would be a 393

i would use a fox computer and definitely go with a 5.8 its just all around better power plant. also the 8.8 is just bigger than the 7.5

 

Thanks for the info Jasper. Its much appreciated. Yeah Id definitly would like to go with the 5.8 but they are a nit hard to find. Guess Ill let my fingers do the walking.

 

you will never get it to pass emissions.... so check with your local ordinances first

 

Fortunately I know a couple people who do emissions testing. I can get anything to pass with the right amount.

 

OK a couple more questions. First Will I be able to use a CPU out of an 89-93 GT like say an A9p or do I need to find one for a 94-95 GT. Second I thought of beefing my transmission up cause I dont have the cash for a T-56 right now. I know my car has a t-T5 but is it a borg warner or tremec? 94 mustang with V6

I'd stay away from the 94-95 computers because they don't respond to mods as well... They try to do too much adjusting, so you get into trouble with bigger cams and such

 

I think it is pretty cool to watch a V8 shoot a pinion gear out the back of a car that has a 7.5 rear. Unless of course it was mine. Change the rearend!!!!!!!!!!

 

get the fox body cpu i was thinking about swapping one into my old gt. also save some of your money and just get a tko600
