what about if i put rtv on the plate....lay the gasket on that...then put rtv on the rear end where the plate bolts to....think thatd be ok ?...i dont see how a gasket can mess anything up...and i've always used gaskets when i put a new plate on...but its always been chevy's with no fill or drain plugs....just a regular plate

i like the lpw kit the best and in the instructions it says don't use the gasket i think having a gasket in there negates having the support studs against the caps the gasket will cause deflection as it compresses from axle tourque

I think if its street/strip drivin the use gasket and rtv. If your pushing that much power ther your rearend housing flexes then you need a new rear end. Sorry i may be wrong but seems comon sence to me.

Edit: Also i never heard of this nonsence. Mabey cause i grew up chevy who knows. In the chevy life we all used ford nines cause they kill a 12 bolt. But i never heard of a gasket on the rearend cover being any type of problem. Wtf it dont cause combustion. It is basicly gears spinning in fluid. (minus the clutches for limited/ or strait drives)

i used an allen socket ... it is an allen wrench that you snap on a ratchet / tourque wrench

Put a allen socket on your wrench.
