i thought everyone was saying 3.73's becaue you gotta manual, but if you got an AOD then there is no doubt that i would go 4.10's by far

FI and N/A can be the same thing... fuel injected motors without nitrous or boost are naturaly aspirated...

You guys rarely ask the right questions when answering,

How tall are your tires,
How much cruising at 70mph do you want to do
Do you care about gas

My AOD loves 4.30s, but I have 28x11.5x15 ET streets, shorter tires wont like 4.30s, but if you dont drive 30 miles a day at 70-80mph I would consider the 4.10s

FI doesnt mean fuel injected dough boy, it mean forced induction. And as a GENERALIZATION dip****, 3.55's & 3.73's are the gear of choice for 90% of folks with a 5.0

You fail to realize in your small little ignorant world that MOST ALL of us here put street driving ahead of the drag strip. Your telling somebody that YOU run 4.30's (because of your slick height obviously), and your telling someone with an otherwise STOCK car that he should consider 4.10's... your out of your mind.

Oh and yes, to point out the obvious, I don't like you.

Well that goes to show you it matters were you live and who you hang out with, DOUGH BOY (lol). Because everyone that street races in HOUSTON and doesnt visit this site uses it as "Fuel Injected"

As a moderator you dont know very much and are ignorant

When you are answering the question YOU didnt ask him anything, JUST put in your USELESS information and felt good about yourself

Pay attention and find out all necessary information before you look like a JACKASS.

Glad I have a fan. And the gear question has been beat to death, theirs no need to ask him what size his tires are, lmao his car is stock. Look Im happy that you have a fast car, Im happy that you think you know your chit, Im glad you think I don't know what Im doing and am ignorant.

Im sure you know, but those others here that don't know, why I don't like this guy. He joins the boards for the sole purpose of bragging about his car. He says he's gonna run great times and that horsepower don't matter and that all of use that think horsepower is important are dumb and [sm=icon_blah.gif] and that you can have a fast car without much hp and [sm=icon_blah.gif] ... Well he said it in such an arrogant and demeaning way that he got jumped on pretty hard by a few members and only made it worse on himself. So there you have it. You made your peace and I made mine. Were even, lets continue on.

Ok so to end this gear controversy. What is the main difference between the gears, how does it affect gas, reliability and performance, and which is better for a lightly modified 03 GT 5 spd?

In GENERAL, 4.10's are a good gear for 99+ GT's (auto or m/t). Theirs always some who would prefer 4.30's or 3.73's, gas mileage with 4.10's won't be any different likely, at least not noticable. You'll get better gas mileage around town (you'll be a gear higher around town but will be able to accelerate with less throttle) but on the interstate you'll suffer some, but not much.

With your stock 3.27's you'll be at 2000 rpm or so in 5th at 70mph, with 3.73's you'll be at 2200, 4.10's at 2400, & 4.30's at 2500 or so. Been there, done that, have had 3 different sets of gears in my car and by far 4.10's was my favorite.
