engine wont start

well the car was running perfectly, went to turn it on the next morning. there was a little popping sound and then nothin. the car wont even attempt to turn over. any help would be great

does the car start when you jump it?
have you tried to bypass the starter siloniod?
what year?

its a 1990, when i turn the key the battery power gauge drops to nothing. i bought a new battery so cant be the battery

do you have good connections at the battery?
what year?

i tried jumping it, it seems to have a good connection , same as it always did when it started, and its a 1990 lx 5.0

you can do it two ways:

1. put ignition key in and turn forward to the on position, just were all the dash lights come on
2. Then pop the hood and take a screw driver and jump the two large post coming of the siloniod by the battery (dont be scared it wont shock you)
or
1. same as #1 above
2. open the hood and jump the small lead on the top of the siloniod with the larger post that is closest to the firewall or seating area.

if the car starts buy another siloniod
