really, unless i was building something uber extreme, i would just go with a girdle. or even just the caps and have the block machined and line honed - hell you'd still be way cheaper.

girdles dont work. not in a 5.0 block anyways. all they do is just keep all youre parts in a nice little pile... plus, the 5.0 blocks usualy split in the lifter valley and not in the main webbing.

actually alot of times the front main along with a piece of the block comes apart. part of the reason was because of the 1-5 firing order which the later HO motors didnt use.
