Default SPEEDOMETER HELP

I have a 1990 Mustang GT with 135K, it hasstock motor with full exhaust and intake, but my speedometer is getting really anoying...I started with changingmy cable and Igreased it up alot, did not stop it from bouncing but it did stop the noise....next i changed my whole cluster out of a 91 gt and it got alot better but it still bounces below 40.. Doesanyone know what is wrong and how to fix it??? and also how do i put pictures up?

If you get this figured out, let me know. mine does the same thing, after 40, no problems at all, I still need a new speedo gear and a new cable though. gl

5spd or auto? Theres a gear on the trans end of that cable to. That one may be worn out giving a bad reading. Should be near or on the side somewhat of the tailhousing. On my AOD its a little black piece that bolts to the side with a lock tab on it. Not sure how a 5spd is setup tho.

What did you use to grease it up?

Its a 5-speed, yea i was thinking of changing that gear next.

When i bought the new speedo cable it came with a little tube of grease i dont know what it is though.

i think you can use motor oil or even bearing grease or mayeb white grease. i think anything should work

thanks, I used clead silicone, not sure if it was a good idea or not, needs a new cable either way, its bent, not trying to steal your thread either.
