valve cover clearance
whats the best way tomake sure my 1.6 rolloer rockers r gonna fit under the stock valve covers. i know i have to turn the engine by hand but how will i be able to really tellwhere its hitting and figure out where to grind at.
on another note i did use the search and some say its possible with the grinding just want to make sure and also i saw that silver91gt and stangman94 both said they have used 1.7's with just removing the baffle and no grinding. soif u guys read thisi would appreciateanymore info ucan give along with anyone else. thanks guys.

RE: valve cover clearance
trial and error my friend. also they make thicker valve cover gaskets, and if you are CAREFULL you can double stack them. you have to use something like weatherstripping adhesive and bond the two gaskets together and then install like you normally would. i wanted to use the black wrinkle motorsport covers but they were way too short for my setup. i actually stacked 5 layers of cork on top of each other using the old school #1 permatex that hardens. they have been on there for like 4 or 5 years and work perfect, plus i spray painted the outside of them black and you probably wouldnt even notice i did that unless i pointed it out.
