Default Forced Induction

later on down the road i know i will be looking to make my car a little faster...i was thinking of a turbo or s/c.
my setup is in my sig and that setup should produce about 400hp at the fly. im looking to get about 100-150hp from some forced induction...just enough to go fast and not crack my block...
which would be better and what manufacturer...i dont know much about turbo's. i would prob go vortec or procharger but the vortec is cheaper i believe. comments on my setup...anything to improve it...will be appreciated.

You can make your own turbo kit for cheap, if you dig through the local junkyard, but other then that I wouldn't do a turbo.

but look at his hp already... turbo will be pushing it... unless he runs really low boost...

yeah thats what i have been thinking...i really dont want my exhaust n stuff turning cheery red either...
there is one small problem though...or two lol...
i will be running 10.0:1 to 10.5:1 CR...thats too high for boost and pump gas...& i doubt that block will hold up very long past 500hp.

400 at the crank.... he wants to add 100-150... i guess either one is ok.... but isnt turbo less stress on the engine?

ive never heard that , but it could be... i dont see how, only because its doing the same thing as a centri s/c....

that compression, you can boost it, but again keep it in the 6psi range... look at the paxton novi1000... might need to intercool it, and a good tune is mandatory...

and yes once u get close to that 500 mark, id start saving for a new block... and some girdles to keep it all inplace when it does shyt on ya, lol.

No matter what you do, a 331 with boost at around 500 hp will be badass

lol
yeah im kinda scared to put much more power in it...i dont want to grenade it. im just looking to get into the 11's and with some suspension im sure i can do it...its mainly just so i can say i have kicked some corvette's butts! i will be getting the tweecer r/t to tune it in N/A form and the boost is just an idea that ive been toying with...the numbers are getting to my head! i have not driven a car with this much power before either so i dont know what to expect.
