clicking noise

last night i was on the expressway when a saleen pulled up next to me [>:]and of course i didnt hold back lol so we went at it....of course i lost having a stock 5.0 but when i was going home i started hearing a clicking noise comming from the back of the engine i dont have time to check it out cuz of work so i need some help trying to find what it is so i wont waste my time when i get home and just go straight to the problem

It could be a number of things. It could be the pushrods the lifters the rockers or something else. Give us more detail of the noise. Is it constant? or only under a load.

I second the valvetrain. My first thought were the springs. Stang got a lot of miles?

I Would have to say that it is the valvetrain to. I had the same noise with mineand it ended up being that i broke 2 springs. It also could be that you have loose rockers.

well the noise gets louder when i give it gas. it seems to be comming from the back of the engine to think about it my headers might be comming loose at the bottem cuz when i had my 71 it had that same noise....lol damn i hope thats it but thanks for the help...but ill check out the valvetrain springs
