removing iac

anybody ever taken off the iac and used block off plate. i am thinking of doing that, but i just wanted some feedback from anybody that has done this.

Well, I know you can undo it...I had mine unplugged for a little while(basically like plating it off) And all I had to do was up the idle screw a little. It sucked though because it acts like a choke, so cold starts can be a bi!ch.

are you talking about a restrictor plate so that your rpms will drop once you take your foot off the gas and push the clutch down? I made one and it works like a charm. If you want info on it let me know. Takes about 15-30 min to make if your good with this kind of stuff.

Now that it was mentioned..sorta, when I had my IAC unpugged, my RPM would drop instantly when I let off the gas. It was cool when I would rev it, it would drop right down, but it sucked to drive with if you shifted slow(manual) the RPMs would drop to fast and would have to catch back up. I had to drive differently with it unhooked. I now have it back on

weres ur IAC located? this seems like it would sound sick to have it rev to like 4 or 5grand n instantly go back down.. would sound bad ***.. if you just unpluged it you say ti would do the same as a restricter plate? give me some info on this. Id like to try it

It is on the TB, on the front...it is round. If you unplug it, you will have to turn up your idle screw and reset your TPS. I had mine unplugged, and still mounted and that is what it did.
