Use the Dart block. There are companies that make shortblocks with aftermarket blocks. Don't buy them. Buy all your own parts and have someone local put it together for you.

Yes, a dart shortblock (assembled, etc.) will run prob 4K (in that area atleast). They are pretty expensive.. but worth it if you plan on making big power.

Dart block and Man-O-War (Needing machining) $2200-2400. (Add roughly $500 for all of the machining needed).
IF you are not planning on exceeeding 500hp, why not buy a sportsman block? you can buy one for a third of the cost of a Dart/World and never have an issue. Or if you are going to build on an aftermarket block go ahead and buy a Windsor, the block is going to cost you about the same and you will never have a need to up-grade your platform.

BTW Boss 302 block or the 4blt main Motorsports blocks are $1800 and will support about 1200hp. The Dart or Man-O-War blocks about 2000hp.
