Default Selling the 91 lx

I am selling the 5.0 and buying a 1995 M3. In my town there is nowhere to drag race, but there are local Autocross events every month. I can't afford to have both cars (and the wife only has so much patience.)

Black 91 lx 5.0 with an AOD. Here are the mods: 3.73 gears, Bearings replaced, Flowtech headers and off-road H Pipe, Flowmasters, Ratchet Shifter a.k.a. "the hammer", Edelbrock performer heads and Edelbrock performer intake, Motorsport E Cam, 24 lb injectors, 190 fuel pump, 70mm throttle body, upgraded MAF, k&n filter, March Ram air package, ASP Pulleys, BBK adjustable fuel pressure regulator, MSP Ignition coil, B&M 2800 stall. I put a brand new radiator in last month. Black backyard paintjob with orangepeel pretty bad, still looks better than most. Busted door actuator on drivers side. 17" Cobra wheels with relatively new Fuzion ZRi's with plenty of tread left. The Overdrive doesn't work but gears 1 through 3 work great. This would be a great car to do a T-5 swap or put in a C4. It could even be driven as is for a fun DD.

Let me know how much I should sell it for.

I'm sure you've looked into it.. but I've had too M3's, a 95 and a 98.. and both were plagued with problems. The 95 had just over 100k miles.. but the 98 only had 50k. I had the 95 first, as I car I loved it, but it was the most unreliable car I've owned. I sold it, bought a 03 Lexus GS400... but then I wanted another M3, and assumed if I boughta newer and lower mileaged M3 I wouldnt have many problems. So I boughtthe 98. AGAIN, I had tons of problems, got fed up with it, and sold within the first 3 months of owning it, and after I replaced what seemed to be every single mechanical part on the car.

As far as selling your car, I would say 3500-4000.

Not trying to sway your car buying decision, would you ever want to buy a 240zx for xcrossing?I know its not as cool, but its also RWD, and you could swap in the TT i-6 into it and it would way more reliable.

Wish you the best in whatver you decide to do!!

Thanks for the replies. Would it be worth $600 to swap in a used AOD that has working overdrive or should I try and sell as is?

I'm buying the M3 from a good friend. He's had it for 5 years and done about $11,000 in mods and upgrades over the years. He has done regular servicing, and he handled all of the major E36 problem areas such as radiator neck, water pump, etc. This car seems solid, but I know I'm taking a risk. Thanks for the warnings though.

E36 BMS's were the worst bimmers every made... good luck with all the problems [&:]They look sick as hell, trust me, I love them too but I have a few people who have owned them and nothing but problems. From engine work to the interior falling apart.

Well, I sold the 5.0 to a local drag racer. He has two Supra's worth the big bucks. His daughter is on his pit crew and she is now old enough to start racing. He is buying her my 5.0 as her first race car. Due to the availability and cost of parts she should be able to turn this into a fun car to watch.

Gone but not forgotten!
