AOD-E problems

AOD-E problems
Hey, over the weekend a few other people and myself took the original AOD-E, that wouldn't shift past 2nd gear, out of my mustang and put in one, along with a 2800 stall torque onverter, that I bought from some guy in New York. It is the same transmission but out of a 95 GT, I have a 94 GT. This transmission has about 60k milies on it before he had a shift kit put in it along with a few other things andthen he ran it for another 15k miles. Well we got it in and running around 2pm. I drove it around until about 7pm, it shifted much stronger than my original transmission. Then around 7pm I was going down the street and at about 4000-4500 rpm, i'm not sure if it was about to shift to 3rd or not, it went from 2nd gear to neutral. My father towed me home with his truck because I was only about a mile from home. But now it won't shift into any gear. It doesn't matter if I put it in D1, D2, D3, or Reverse. But if I put it in park and try to push the car it won't move. We checked under the car with the gas a little bit down and the driveshaft isn't turning at all. I'm not really sure what the problem is until we take the transmission back out and see whats going on, but I won't have the time to do that for awhile. So in the mean time does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be?
Thanks, Jason.

RE: AOD-E problems
sounds bad. did it make a noise before doing this? i've had 2 auto transmissions in my car and several in an old IROC. Ultimately, i went with a manual and hope that i wont have the problems i did with the automatics.
in my cars the 'band' that i understand is the culprit.
if i were going to use another automatic i ONLY go with Lentech out of Canada. google them and you'll get more information.

RE: AOD-E problems
Well I honestly didn't hear anything. I had a friend in the car though and he said he heard what he thought sounded like a scraping sound for a second before it went to neutral. So i'm not really sure. But I don't really have a lot of money to work with... I'm in my first year of college, which is why i bought a used tranny. So hopefully it's something that I can fix and won't have to spend too much on... Is there a possibility that the torque converter wasn't all the way in the transmission and maybe slipped off or something?

more than likely the shift kit install failed, or spring etc popped off, take the pan off and see what came off, and put it back on
