Ford 9" in a Fox

RE: Ford 9" in a Fox
I like the idea of setting up a couple third members, driving to the 1/8 mile track one weekend, a 1/4 mile track another and doing a 20 minute gear swap and then drive home on my street gears.

Played that game for a while. Put too much into a car I could only drive at the track, said I'd never do that again. I'll put the money in one I can drive whenever I want.....hope it lasts LOL

RE: Ford 9" in a Fox
We tried using an 8.8 in our circle track race car. It was modded into a full floating axle. We used it because of less resistance and weight, but it ended up bending the tubes very easily, so we are goign back to a 9".
ANyway, to answer you question, there are companies that offer bolt in 9"s for foxes, I try looking into currie enterprises, ad the make alot of custom 9"s.

I know all about those......too much green. Want to do it myself was just hoping to get some insight from some one who had done it rather than learning all the quirks the hard way.
Thanks

I am confused, how would it cost more if I do all the work and fab up what's needed? I can get a complete rear end for $75 and it wouldn't cost more that $100 in materials. Then I'm out gears and bearings - $300 max. The cheapest "bolt in" I've seen is $1200 - $1500 depending on options.
