clutch adjustment

I've got an aftermarket clutch and recently had the cable replaced after it snapped. I've heard that if you replace the clutch you have to get and adjustable cable. Anybody know how I would adjust my cable? I've gotta put the thing to the floor to disengage as it is. Any ideas?
